Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Chief Justice’s Statewide Judicial Emergency Order, we have adjusted the Georgia Commission on Interpreter’s Testing and Training Schedule.

The cost of the orientation
workshop is $200.
You
must register and pay for this event through the
Georgia Courts Registrar If you have already registered
for a canceled orientation, your registration
will automatically transfer to the on-demand workshop.
Once registered, you will be sent a
link granting access to orientation materials
for a limited time.

There is no registration
deadline for this event.
Cancelations must be made no
less than 24 hours before the exam to be eligible for a refund.
The cost of the written exam is $50. You must
register and pay for this event through the Georgia
Courts Registrar. The English Written Exam is available
by appointment only. You can register and schedule your
exam session at any time but are required to complete the orientation
before you can test. Once staff confirms your registration, a confirmation
email will be sent with scheduling instructions.

November 4, 2020 The cost of the oral certification exam is $250. Exam registration
and payment must be received through the Georgia Courts Registrar
by 11:59 PM on the deadline. Appointment letters and exam instructions are
emailed business days before the exam.

November 4, 2020 The Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI)is only required if
you wish to interpret in a language that does not have a certification exam.

certification exam. If your language is not on this list, you are required to take the OPI for licensure. Click here for more information
on the OPI  and instructions on how to schedule an appointment.

If you do not complete the licensing process within two years of your scheduled orientation, you must retake and pass the English Written Exam to remain active in our system. Applicants may request an extension of time by completing an approved skill-builder and submitting a request to gcr@georgiacourts.gov.
