Who we are?

The Office of Court Professionals assists Court Interpreters, Court Reporters, and Process Servers with the licensing process, licensing requirements, and licensing renewals. The Office of Court Professionals also serves as staff to the Board of Court Reporting, the Standing Committee on Court Reporting Matters of the Judicial Council of Georgia, as well as the Commission on Interpreters of the Supreme Court of Georgia. Along with other divisions from the Administrative Office of the Courts, the office works closely with policymaking bodies such as those mentioned above to create and update policies related to court professionals.

Further, working in close partnership with Georgia Courts Registrar (GCR) staff to assist court professionals who may require assistance with their GCR account or persons who need guidance in becoming a Court Professional.

Meet the Team

Bianca Bennett
Bianca BennettEvents and Testing Manager – Office of Court Professionals
Ms. Bennett is the Testing and Event Manager for the Office of Court Professionals of the Georgia Judicial Council/Administrative Office of the Courts. She is responsible for handling the logistics and administration of the events and the exams required for the licensure of Georgia Court Interpreters, Court Reporters, and Process Servers. She provides staff support for the Georgia Commission on Interpreters, the Georgia Board of Court Reporting, and the Standing Committee on Court Reporting Matters of the Judicial Council of Georgia. Ms. Bennett graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Psychology.
Herbert Gordon
Herbert GordonProgram Manager – Georgia Courts Registrar
Mr. Gordon is the Program Manager for the Georgia Courts Registrar of the Judicial Council/Administrative Office of the Courts. He conducts and manages activities relating to the certification and licensing of court professionals and officials through the Georgia Courts Registrar. He is responsible for planning and implementing strategies and operations, and he oversees activities to improve systems and processes that support the Registrar. He manages a registrar staff and interfaces with business programs and information technology staff, and consultants/vendors to support a high level of customer satisfaction. Mr. Gordon is a registered mediator in Georgia, and he is certified through the University of Georgia as a Certified Pubic Manager (CPM).
John Botero
John BoteroProgram Manager – Office of Court Professionals
John Botero is the Program Manager of the Office of Court Professionals for the Judicial Council / Administrative Office of the Courts. As a Program Manager, John oversees the administrative process not only for the Commission on Interpreters of the Supreme Court of Georgia, but also the Board of Court Reporting, and the Standing Committee on Court Reporting Matters of the Judicial Council of Georgia. Before working with the Judicial Council/Administrative Office of the Courts, John worked with the Judicial Branch of the State of Connecticut first as an Interpreter and then as a Court Clerk.

John graduated from Pace University’s Dyson College of Arts and Science with a Master of Public Administration. John obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the City University of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2006. John brought the knowledge of this profession to his current role, where he seeks to improve the part of the interpreters in Georgia’s courts and the Commission’s role and level of assistance to all parties and to improve equal access to justice. John’s expertise in working with other Court Professionals is also an asset that helps him advocate and advance the standing of all Court Professionals in Georgia.
